The 1st High-Level Meeting of Archipelagic and Island State Forum was held on 11 October 2023. The AIS Forum was officially opened by the speech of Mr. President, Joko Widodo.
This year, the AIS Forum Summit carries the theme “Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation, for our Ocean and Our Future”. In accordance with the aim of the AIS Forum, which is a forum for cooperation between island and archipelagic countries to strengthen collaboration in overcoming global problems.
Attended by 32 head of states from 51 member countries. The five highest state leaders were present in person ; The President of Micronesia, Prime Minister of Niue, Prime Minister of São Tomé and Príncipe, Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, and Prime Minister of Tuvalu.
