The Seventh Session of the Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction (GP2022) is a month away, the national committee held its coordination meeting on Thursday, 21 April 2022.
Chaired by Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Bapak Muhadjir Effendy, the meeting was co-chaired by Minister of Trade Bapak M. Lutfi, Minister of Law and
Human Rights Bapak Yasonna H. Laoly, Minister of Village, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Bapak Abdul Halim Iskandar, Head of Indonesian National Board for Disaster
Management Lt. Gen. Suharyanto, and also attended by Governor of Bali Province Bapak Wayan Koster and 100 officials from related government bodies and agencies.
The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is the main global forum to assess and discuss progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. GP2022 will
be organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) from 23 to 28 May 2022, in Bali, Indonesia, hosted by the Government of Indonesia with expected participants of 5,000
delegates from 197 countries. The event will be co-chaired by the Government of Indonesia and UNDRR.
