In commemoration of National Disaster Preparedness Day, 26 April 2023, BNDCC has participated in Earthquake and Tsunami Evacuation Simulation held by The Nusa Dua.
Under the supervisions from Meteorological, Climatological, and Geophysical Agency (BMKG), National Agency for Disaster Management (BNPB), Regional Agency for Disaster Management (BPBD) and local police force, the simulation is run with the scenario of an earthquake in southern Bali at 09.47 WITA with a magnitude of M8.5 with a depth of 20KM which has the potential to cause a tsunami.
Horizontal evacuation was carried out after tsunami early warnings 1 and 2 were activated and Estimated Time of Arrival of tsunami waves to The Nusa Dua Area is 10:17 WITA
BNDCC team which consisting of 24 staff including Emergency Response Team (ERT) personnel and led by Chief Security Suta Erawan has managed to reach the temporary evacuation shelter (TES) which is 2.5KM away with an altitude of +50 HWL in 10.10 minutes by running and 10.19 minutes by walking.
