From Risk to Resilience: Towards Sustainable Development for All in a COVID-19 Transformed World
The Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction is the main global forum to assess and discuss progress on the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction. The
conference of the seventh session of the Global Platform (GP2022) organized by the UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) from 25 to 27 May 2022, at Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, co-
chaired by the Government of Indonesia and UNDRR.
Officially opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia H.E Bapak Joko Widodo on 25 May and attended by 7,000 delegates and participants from 185 countries in a hybrid platform with
about 80% of them joined the conference in-person, the 2022 Global Platform provide a unique and timely opportunity to showcase the importance of international solidarity and cooperation, as well
as to discuss ways to tackle underlying risk drivers both locally and globally. Additionally, it explore how to strengthen disaster risk governance and how to build stronger systems for managing all types of risks.
GP2022 offers a chance for all stakeholders to recommit, with urgency, to accelerate progress on disaster risk reduction towards the achievement of sustainable development and outlined
recommendations named as the Bali Agenda for Resilience as the outcome of its meetings at BNDCC.
