10th World Water Forum Ministerial Meeting and Parliamentary Meeting

Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center as the official venue of the 10th World Water Forum Ministerial Meeting and Parliamentary Meeting which was attended by 231 delegates including ministers and representatives from 49 countries and had discuss various topics namely Water Conservation Efforts, Clean Water Availability and Sanitation, Food Security and Energy, and Natural Disaster Mitigation.

Held on the first day of the event, 20 May 2024, the Ministerial Meeting was chaired by Indonesia Minister of Home Affairs Jend. Pol. (Purn.) Prof. Drs. H. Muhammad Tito Karnavian M.A., Ph.D. co-chaired by former president of World Water Council Professor Ben Braga, with the opening introduction was delivered by the President of the World Water Council Mr. Loic Fauchon.

In addition, the Parliamentary Meeting held with the theme “Mobilizing Parliamentary Action on Water for Shared Prosperity” and chaired by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Dr. (H.C) Puan Maharani.

Numerous bilateral meetings, high-level panels, side events, and special sessions were also held on ministerial level, countries’ representatives and delegations from international organizations.

During this prestigious event, Indonesia Ministry of Communication and Information Technology hosted and organized a media center which equipped with press conference room, interview studio, international joint newsroom, broadcasting centers, media booths, to accommodate up to 1000 national and international journalists from around the globe.

On 18-25 May 2024, Indonesia is trusted to co-host the 10th World Water Forum together with the World Water Council. As the largest in the water sector, the forum is organized for a week and held every three years. The theme “Water for Prosperity” was chosen to recognize the fundamental role of clean water accessibility for the prosperity of future generations. The forum serves as a platform for parliamentarians from various countries to strategize and formulate concrete actions for inclusive and sustainable water management.
